Deep Release - Restorative Yoga for Liver & Renewal
32 mins
After building strength, after pushing through your day, after all the doing and achieving and holding it together - your body needs this. This deeply restorative practice focuses on your Liver meridian, which in Traditional Chinese Medicine governs the smooth flow of Qi throughout your body and is intimately connected to emotional balance, adaptability through change, and your ability to move through life's transitions with grace rather than resistance. During menopause, the Liver system often becomes stagnant - showing up as irritability, mood swings, frustration, feeling emotionally 'stuck,' tension in your hips and side body, and that sense of just holding too much. This practice creates space for all of that to release. Through long-held, fully supported poses targeting your hips, inner thighs, and side body (where the Liver and Gallbladder meridians run), you'll invite layers of physical and emotional tension to soften and dissolve. This isn't about stretching harder - it's about holding longer, breathing deeper, and giving your nervous system permission to finally let go. Use this after strength-building practices to balance effort with rest, at the end of intense days when you're holding too much, or anytime you feel irritable, overwhelmed, or emotionally congested. Strength without rest leads to depletion. This is where you restore the balance and remember what 'easeful' feels like. Review the Module 3 TCM guide for deeper understanding of Liver Qi stagnation and why this practice matters so much during menopause.
